About

Baker, creative thinker, writer, crafter, soapmaker, sew-er, and canoe-er finding her way in a modern world through learning more traditional skills and quite a lot of flour and butter.

Prior to July 2011, I was based out of a little 1910 log cabin in Wyoming. It was a perpetual episode of Northern Exposure (minus Mounties) - no stoplights, no fast food or chain stores, and a few moose in the front yard.

Now, I'm enjoying the "big" city in Montana and all of the deliciously fun ingredients that I can get at - GASP - real grocery stores, farmers markets and co-ops. I work full-time doing marketing, public relations and social media at national environmental nonprofit, which is why my posts can be sporadic at times. I won't apologize for that, but I will encourage you stick around. When I do post, it's something that I truly want to share!

Why Pie Bird?
'Cause I vent while baking.
