Northwoods Bound - See Ya Later!

It is with much anticipated PURE GLEE that I announce my quickly approaching vacation! Tomorrow, the hubbie, pup and I will climb into the car with all of our paddles, dehydrated foods, and gear and head for Canada for a 7 day wilderness canoe trip in Quetico Provincial Park. We met there 5 years ago this summer when we both worked as canoe guides in the area and the yearly return to the "motherland" is really something special.

Last year, we made the decision to go in late fall and dealt with the consequences (poor fishing, small blizzard, extra night in the woods). This year, we're headed into 80 degree days, nice cool water, and **fingers crossed** more fish than we can eat! I had planned to share with you all some of the recipes I've been working on for the trip, but it looks like that will have to wait until we return after Labor Day.
